“People of our time are losing the power of celebration. Instead of celebrating we seek to be amused or entertained. Celebration is an active state, an act of expressing reverence or appreciation. To be entertained is a passive state–it is to receive pleasure afforded by an amusing act or a spectacle…. Celebration is a confrontation, giving attention to the transcendent meaning of one’s actions.”
– The Wisdom of Heschel by Abraham Joshua Heschel
I LOVE LOVE LOOOOVE December!
It is an absolutely beautiful month when I take the time to reflect, celebrate and plan.
I do have a confession to make though. This December has been hard.
With all the uncertainty about the next wave of the virus and how it will affect my business plans and my personal life goals, it has been harder to plan.
And, this season feels… less festive.
Plans with friends are being canceled. My partner’s brother caught the virus and we were waiting on confirmation of Christmas plans from her parents.
And I am one of the lucky ones.
It is not so with many of my friends and clients who have lost loved ones, were laid off, or suffered major setbacks in their health and financials.
So let’s be real with each other. This year has been a lot to digest. We are tired, overwhelmed, and exhausted. It is harder to recall our wins. It is tougher to connect with gratitude. And yes, we are feeling a little more dull and a little more hesitant to celebrate.
This is exactly why I decided to share with you a very personal HOLIDAY CELEBRATION GUIDE we named: HOLLY’S HANDY HOLIDAY GUIDE. My partner and I created it (with the help of a very special elf, Holly) to intentionally bring the active spirit of celebration and joy into this season. You can download it at the bottom of this article!
In it you will find:
- a guided meditation to connect you with the true magick of Christmas, celebration and gratitude. (and yes, magick was not a typo)
- a play by play guide to help you turn this themed meditation into an enchanting and festive event where you, your kids, family, friends and/or community can actively participate in celebrating the year that just passed.
I know how crucial it is to take the time to reflect, celebrate and plan.
There were years when I didn’t. I found myself attending dinners, scrambling to shop for gifts, and “being entertained”. Before I knew it, the year had ended and the new year had begun.
And it felt anticlimactic. And I was left scrambling.
That is why I decided, I will be intentional this year!
I will reflect!
I will celebrate!
I will plan!
You… were my muse! Sounds far fetched? Well read on my friend!
You kept me accountable. Knowing I will share with you my reflections kept me on track. And if you haven’t read my biggest lesson of 2021, you can read it here – What 2021 Taught me.
In that blog you’ll:
- Learn why you need to embrace your emotions;
- Get a practice for creating balanced flow in your body, mind, emotions and life;
- Receive access to a powerful alchemy practice for releasing negativity and connecting with your divine essence.
And that’s not all; writing to you about celebration inspired me to have one of my most memorable holiday practices – EVER!
I was staring at a blank sheet, thinking: “hmm, how do I share with you something about celebration?” An hour later, the alarm went off and as I got up to get my laundry, I remembered that I needed to call my friend Kirsten, and BAM! It hit me!!
My partner Lulwa, my friend Kirsten, and her two kids Ella and Leaf and I are gonna celebrate the end of 2021 together. We are gonna all be kids again.
We are gonna pull out our crayons and creativity and fill a cookie jar with our favourite wins of 2021. We are gonna write our one wish for 2022, roll it up and put it into the paper boats we made and sail them into the lake.
And then we are gonna come back and have hot chocolate!
And…. since you are the inspiration, we are gonna share our experience with you; it’s only fair, don’t you think?
Come on, celebrate with us. Don’t be shy!
We wanted to find a way to bring heart-warming magick and connection into our home. We created HOLLY’S HANDY HOLIDAY GUIDE for us so we can use it on a date night and honor the fruits we reaped and seeds we planted in 2021. We created it for our family, so we can actively celebrate together, bringing reverence and joy to this season!
We poured so much love, gratitude, imagination and magick into it and we can’t wait to share it with you!
Whether you are alone or with a partner, whether you want to celebrate with your kids, your family or your friends, we’ve got you covered.
Click the button below to download it all and get access to:
- A guided meditation, using the power of true imagination to bring you into gratitude, joy and abundance.
- A play-by-play guide you can use to host an enchanting Christmas celebration event where your kids, family members, friends and even your community can actively participate in remembering and sharing their 2021 wins.
Much love and happy holidays!
P.S. We also made a little highlight real of our holiday celebration, which we’re hoping can provide some inspiration. 🙂
