It’s easy for you mind to agree to do something different for a short while. It actually feels good, refreshing, a change of pace, and escape from the ordinary. It’s when your mind realizes you truly want to make it a new habit that it starts to push back more and more. Because it means it now has to change itself. It means that it has to exert energy to become new, to rewrite its programming. And as it does, it needs to purge the reasons that caused you to not have this pattern in your life in the first place. There’s just no way for them both to exist at the same time. The only way to purge is to bring them up and make you deal with them head on. They have to come into your perception and you need to decide that you truly want to let them go. This is the resistance, and the struggle within. Do you truly want this new pattern or are you going to let yourself be stuck with the old. That point where you feel like you’re going to just give yourself a break and chill from this process “just for the moment”.. that’s the point where you need to keep on going.. you’re just at the cusp of it.
